I start my IVF medications tonight (i.e. Lupron) and my RE has a website where I can access some video's to see how the injections are done. However, I just figured out that my access has been disabled and it is almost end of the day and I am afraid (I am not going to be able to get in touch with a tech and) I am not going to be able to check the video before I have to take my first injection! I know I can probably just look it up on YouTube or google it... but I would really appreciate it if you gals know of any reliable (tried and tested) medical sources which you can share and I can check out.

I am on a time crunch right now, but I promise to post in detail about this cycle and my genetic consultation soon.

Just took my first Lupron injection - Thank you girls for your quick response. I can't describe how much I appreciate your help. I guess I just panicked since it was the first IVF injection (and a different one). It went pretty well! :) ...more to come soon!
Try Mel's site the Stirrup Queens http://stirrup-queens.blogspot.com/ and on the left hand side there is a list of diagnosis, treatments and other helpful stuff. Numbers 23 to 29 are all videos about injections - hope this helps good luck.
ReplyDeleteGo to http://stirrup-queens.blogspot.com/ On the left blue side bar there are several videos you can view. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteohmigosh, it's seriously no big deal. it was the biggest deal in the world to me. i almost hired a nurse to come do it every night - i was so scared.
ReplyDeleteseriously, if you haven't done it yet, email me at adventuresinglass at gmail dot com and give me your number, i will totally talk you through it.
Did you figure it out? If not, here ya go:
ReplyDeleteAlcohol swab the top of the vial, draw up what you need into the syringe, then swab a spot on your belly between the belly button and hairline. Grab above and below that spot and pinch it, then poke the needle in all the way and inject. Wait 3-5 seconds before removing the needle so it doesn't leak out a little (not a huge deal if it does a tiny bit, don't worry).
